Our starting point was the universe of “clouds.” It is in them that all technology currently lives, as well as being home to different and diverse digital experiences. It was with this connection in mind that the two buildings were designed, which, like clouds, hover in the air, highlighting their lightness, but balanced in concrete. The grid used runs throughout the building, giving it movement and speed.
The enclosure is composed of two horizontal pieces that interlink in four oblique elements, introducing movement to the whole, while considering its surroundings, seeking, thus, to ensure that each building has its personality and that, as a whole, they coexist well with each other and are part of the same architectural language.
An exterior structure of exposed concrete was designed high above the ground, which conveys a sense of lightness as if it were hovering over the landscape. The facade is set back from this enclosure dematerialising beyond it and giving strength to the concept of form levitation.
The office space has been carefully designed to be inspiring and enhance productivity, while still providing a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Based on a workplace strategy and the latest best practices, we sought to create an accessible corporate environment, using wood in dialogue with concrete; flexible spaces and rooms that allow various configurations; and a focus on spatial flows to encourage encounters and the sharing of ideas. The best yet most unexpected part of the office design is its integration of gaming elements throughout the interiors.
LAYOUTS / FLOOR PLANS
The lobby is designed to make employees and visitors feel like they are entering a gaming world with a combination of colours, materials, and furniture.
By using stairs between floors, we promote mobility without ever forgetting the basic concept, because using them is like getting to a new level, through a chromatic sensation.
The building’s lightness, dynamic grid, and interlinked volumes create a narrative of movement, connectivity, and forward-thinking. Inside, the workspace was carefully crafted to foster creativity, collaboration, and well-being, with zones that shift between playful and professional atmospheres — always echoing the essence of gaming.
Miniclip’s headquarters in Oeiras is a bold fusion of architecture, technology, and imagination. From the initial concept inspired by “clouds” and the gaming universe to the final structure that seems to hover above the landscape, every design decision reflects the innovative spirit of the company.
This is more than just an office — it’s an immersive experience that embodies Miniclip’s identity and elevates its presence on the global stage.
