BIM Specialist: Technology, Process & Innovation
Openbook is looking for a BIM Specialist to join our BIM Management team, with a focus on transforming and accelerating the way we develop our projects.
In this role, you will help shape how we use BIM, automation, computational design and new technologies, including AI. You will support the management of our BIM models, research and test new tools, and help our teams adopt new processes through training, documentation and day-to-day support.
Responsibilities
- Support the management and optimisation of BIM models across multidisciplinary projects
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM standards, templates and processes, identifying opportunities for simplification and automation
- Follow market developments and research, test and evaluate new tools, plugins and technologies applied to BIM and AEC, including AI
- Collaborate on the development of in-house solutions that automate tasks and strengthen quality control
- Act as the link with technology suppliers and partners, getting to know their features and organising demos, trials and training sessions
- Support the rollout of new tools and processes through training, documentation and day-to-day support for project teams
Abilities
- Background in Architecture or Engineering
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in BIM, within an architecture or engineering practice
- Advanced knowledge of Revit (essential)
- Experience with collaboration and information management platforms (ACC / Autodesk Forma)
- Knowledge of Navisworks, Dynamo scripting or similar tools (valued)
- Experience in training teams or implementing digital tools and processes (valued)
- Experience with AI tools, scripting or developing plugins and automations for Revit (valued)
- Interest in artificial intelligence, automation and new technologies applied to BIM and AEC
- Curiosity and a proactive attitude, with the ability to turn problems into practical solutions
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to different teams and profilesjobs@openbook.pt
