Mutual Building shortlisted among the 15 finalists for ArchDaily Brazil’s Building of the Year 2026

Mutual Building, located in Porto, has been shortlisted for the ArchDaily Brazil Building of the Year Awards 2026, in the Office Architecture category.
Designed by Openbook Architecture for Osborne + Co and Adriparte, and delivered by MAP Group, the project is the result of a comprehensive intervention on a historic office building in Campo Alegre, Porto. The approach is grounded in recognising the building’s emblematic value, preserving its identity while addressing contemporary demands for performance, sustainability, and innovation.
With a total area of 10,000 sqm, the project establishes a new benchmark for workplace environments in Porto. Its architectural language is defined by clarity and precision, with a dynamic façade system composed of vertical and horizontal fins that respond to solar exposure, enhancing both identity and environmental performance.
Internally, a double-height lobby creates a spatial experience that balances scale and comfort, integrating architectural and artistic elements into a more human-centred environment. The building also incorporates a series of terraces across different levels, culminating in a rooftop with panoramic views over Porto and the Douro River.
Sustainability-driven construction and technological solutions are embedded throughout the project, reinforcing an approach that bridges architectural legacy with a forward-looking vision of the workplace.
Being shortlisted for this award, one of the most recognised distinctions within the ArchDaily platform, represents a meaningful acknowledgement by the international architectural community.

O Mutual Building foi selecionado como um dos 15 finalistas do Building of the Year 2026, promovido pelo ArchDaily Brasil, na categoria de Office Architecture.
Após uma primeira fase de votação aberta ao público, o projeto integrou o grupo restrito de finalistas, destacando-se entre os projetos publicados ao longo do último ano na plataforma.
Desenvolvido pela Openbook Architecture para a Osborne+Co e a Adriparte, e construído pela MAP Group, o Mutual Building resulta de uma intervenção de reabilitação que redefine um edifício emblemático da cidade do Porto, adaptando-o às exigências contemporâneas de desempenho, flexibilidade e sustentabilidade.
Esta nomeação constitui um reconhecimento relevante por parte da comunidade global de arquitetura, refletindo o posicionamento do projeto num contexto internacional exigente.
